The “Shoots” tab in a production is used to create and manage the individual shoot dates. Once you have created a shoot, you can assign it a date, time and rate and from there you can start adding and calculating your chits.
You can click the name of a shoot to start working on the artists/chits
Click the green “Create Shoot” button to create a new Shoot. You will need to give it a Name, a Date and a (default) Call Time. Note that the call time can be overridden for specific artists so don’t worry if you have multiple call times.
The Agreement dropdown allows you to choose the particular trade body agreement/rate that will be used on the shoot. The two main choices are PACT/FAA (Just called FAA) which is typically used in the London area or PACT/Equity (just called PACT) which is typically used outside of London. There is also a Custom option which allows you to specify your own custom rates (e.g. for an independent or college/university production).
The Rate dropdown allows you to choose the specific rate card to use for this agreement. Both FAA and PACT regularly update their rates so from this dropdown you can choose from a specific rate (e.g. PACT January 2024). If you’re unsure what to choose here then I’d recommend selecting the most recent rate as this will reflect the current rates as of now.
Editor’s note: unfortunately the dropdown boxes are not displayed correctly in the video, hopefully it still provides enough of guide to help you create your shoot.
Click the yellow edit button to change the properties of a shoot
Click the red delete button to delete a shoot. Please note that it is not possible to delete a shoot once it contains processed chits.
