Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be an agency?

No, not at all. The system has been targetted at talent agencies but it still works for standalone productions or for anyone who needs to calculate a chit. Please contact us if you need further help / advice on this.

How much will we be charged?

All agencies are billed on a monthly basis for each chit that they have created. Please speak to your sales representive (or refer to your invoice) for our current rate (per chit).

Chits are billable once they reach the "Signed out" status, you will not be charged for no-shows or chits which are never progressed through the system. Though note that a chit will still be chargeable after being reset back to pending or deleted (if it has previously been signed out).

All new agencies receive 250 free chits and these will be fully exhausted before any billable chits are charged to you.

There are no annual or monthly commitments and you are free to use the system as much (or as little) as you like.

Which rates are supported on Quick Chits?

The system currently supports the Pact (https://www.pact.co.uk/) system of rates which are widely used across the UK. We support both the PACT/FAA agreement (called "FAA" in Quick Chits) which covers the London area and the PACT/Equity agreement (called "PACT" in Quick Chits) which covers productions outside of London.

We are currently reviewing the BBC Equity rate system and a decision will be made in 2025 as to whether this rate system will be included in Quick Chits.

We don't currently support child or chaperone rates though these can be added manually using the Custom rate type (see below).

Can I specify my own custom rates?

You can create chits with the Custom rate type that allows you to add any custom charges or custom rates you want to specify. Note that this is a manual process and you cannot automatically calculate overtime or perform any other complex calculation.

Can I export specific chits by date range or for a single artist?

At the moment you can only export all chits by Production or by Shoot. However you can use Excel to sort and filter the chits so please refer to the section Exporting Remittances as CSV for help with this.

How can I import artists from my booking system (I don't use Tagmin)?

The Artist CSV import must follow the format provided in the sample import spreadsheet. However you can use Microsoft Excel (or your preferred spreadsheet editor) to edit a different CSV export (e.g. from your own software) to match the format shown in the sample spreadsheet. So long as the headers match and the columns are in the right order, the import should work just fine.

You can also copy/paste a table (e.g. from a website / cloud database) directly into Excel and then use the "Save as..." feature to save the data into CSV format. As above, you will need to amend the column headings and column order to match the sample import spreadsheet

I've clicked the wrong button and messed up my chits - how do i fix them?

In most cases, so long as the chits haven't been approved/rejected by the artist then you can still make changes (including repeating Sign-in / Sign-out).

However in some cases chits may reached a "blocked" state. When this happens, Production staff may not be able to make the required changes they need.

In these cases, Agency staff (or Quick Chits admin) can use the Reset to Pending function on the Chit tab to revert the select chits back to the "Pending" state. From here, all staff (including Production) are free to make changes and resubmit the chit for approval.

Is there a limit to the amount of chits I can create?

No absolutely not - you can make as many chits as you like! Though please note that we recommend no more than 500 artists per shoot. The system will allow you to add more artists than this but the experience will be slow and you might find the system hard to work with.

Where you need to work with a very large number of artists, we suggest splitting them across multiple shoots (e.g. "Nov 24th Shoot- Group A", "Nov 24th Shoot- Group B", etc.). You can still export all chits and NDAs at the Production level so there are no major drawbacks to this approach and it will keep everything running smoothly.

Can I make my payment runs directly from Quick Chits?

Unfortunately we don't currently offer this feature so payments must be made using your own banking or accounting software. The CSV export can be used as a basis for these payment runs and Excel can be used to prepare the data (please refer to the section Exporting Remittances as CSV for help with this).

Can I connect my booking or accounting application to Quick Chits?

At the moment we don't currently offer an API for automating the processing of chits but this is something we are exploring and we hope to have an update on this in 2025

Can other agencies see my artists?

No absolutely not - your agent account is completely private and all artists that you add are private to your agency.

Please note though that an artist or a member of production maybe associated with multiple agencies so they might be able to see productions or remittances from multiple agencies in the system.

Why can't I delete a Production / Shoot

Once some chits have been processed it is not longer to delete the corresponding shoot or production. If something has gone badly wrong and you need to start all over again, please contact your Quick Chits representative who can help.
